The Children’s Court on Friday granted conditional bail to Prasad Pagi, teacher at Shree Balram Residential High School in Amone-Poinguinim, within a day of his arrest in connection with the thrashing of a student on October 2.
Pagi had surrendered before the Canacona police on Thursday followed by his arrest, after the Court rejected his anticipatory bail.
The teacher is accused of thrashing the Class VI student during a cleanliness drive organised by the school on the occasion of Swachhta Din (Gandhi Jayanti).
