Residents in Canca-Bardez have complained of erratic water supply since Ganesh Chaturthi. Locals said they had repeatedly raised the issue with officials of the Department of Drinking Water (DDW), but there had been no solution. When contacted, DDW officials said the water shortage had arisen due to insufficient water flowing into the Canca water tank. They said an investigation had been initiated to see if there was any fault in the water pipe connecting the water tank in Tivim to Canca. “As soon as the fault is found, it will be repaired immediately and water supply will be restored,” said an official, while appealing to affected residents for their understanding and cooperation in the matter.
