Anxious candidates sought inquiries with the office of the Returning Officer, Vishal Kundaikar, only to be told that the office has not received any further communique on
the issue from the Election Commission.
When The Goan contacted the Returning officer to shed light on the fate of the election process as far as the three wards of Betalbatim and lone ward No 10 of Nuvem is concerned, Kundaikar said that the office of the Director of Panchayats on Wednesday sought information on the number of non-OBC candidates in the fray in the four wards.
“My office has submitted all the necessary information to the office of Panchayat director”, he said, adding that his office is awaiting further instructions from the State Election commission on the issue.
