Can’t expect good governance, democracy from BJP: Youth Cong

MAPUSA
The National Secretary of Indian Youth Congress and Goa in-charge Akhilesh Yadav advocated the need for good democracy and governance which cannot be expected under BJP rule and appealed to the youth to work towards restoring democracy in Goa.

“The power-hungry BJP formed the government through the backdoor and went against the wishes of Goans. Today, the same BJP is teaching lessons of defections to the youth by forcing Congress MLAs to defect and join them,” Yadav said.

The Indian Youth Congress Secretary was addressing members of the Aldona Youth Congress.

Congress Media in-charge Amarnath Panjikar, Aldona Block president Ashwin D’Sousa, North District Youth Congress President Vivek D’Silva, North District Secretary Yash Kochrekar, St Andre Youth President Saish Aroskar, newly appointed Aldona Youth Congress President Vithal Arondekar and others were present on the occasion.

Continuing, Yadav said Goans should teach a lesson to the BJP and should send them home during the forthcoming assembly election.

“Otherwise it will go on suppressing the voice of people,” he said.

Varad Mardolkar said the BJP has failed on all aspects of good governance and has been pushing the State into debt.

“The BJP has been borrowing loans every passing week and using the money to loot the state,” Mardolkar said.

Amarnath Panjikar urged the youth to work towards upholding democratic rights of people.

“BJP has murdered democracy in Goa by manipulations. Now we need to steer and restore it,” Panjikar said.

The meeting was attended by a large number of youth who also expressed their views on building a strong organisation of Youth Congress in Goa.

Youth Congress leader Mahabaleshwar Toraskar proposed the vote of thanks.
