Car and shed damaged as tree collapses at Nanoda The car which got damaged after a mango tree collapsed on a parking shed at Nanoda-Bambar.

A mango tree suddenly collapsed near a house at Nanoda-Bambar in Sattari taluka on Thursday morning, causing significant damage to a parked four-wheeler and a nearby parking shed.

The total loss is estimated at around Rs 1.35 lakh. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to available information, a shed had been constructed adjacent to the house of Krishna Joshi at Nanoda-Bambar. A car was parked inside the shed.

A mango tree located beside the shed suddenly fell, directly crashing onto the shed and the vehicle.

The impact caused severe damage to the front and other parts of the car, with losses estimated at around Rs 95,000. Additionally, the shed also suffered damage worth approximately Rs 40,000, as per sources from the fire department.

Upon receiving information, a Valpoi fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Their timely intervention helped prevent further damage, saving property worth nearly Rs 1.5 lakh. A panchnama of the incident has been conducted, and a report will be submitted to senior authorities, officials said.

Family members of Joshi stated that the tree collapsed suddenly, resulting in a major financial setback. However, they expressed relief that no lives were lost in the incident.

Meanwhile, several hazardous trees still stand in different parts of Sattari taluka, posing a serious risk, especially ahead of the monsoon season. Residents have demanded immediate action to identify and remove such dangerous trees.

Residents have urged authorities under the Disaster Management Department to conduct an urgent survey and grant permission for trimming or removal of dangerous trees to prevent further mishaps.
