CANACONA
In yet another mishap on the highway in Canacona, a car was damaged and an interstate truck which sped away was later intercepted at the Polem border check post on Thursday.
According to sources, the car was travelling from Mapusa was proceeding towards Polem, when an interstate truck struck the car while overtaking the vehicle on the four-lane Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road at Maxem.
The car was damaged in the mishap but the driver managed to bring the car to a halt and the truck sped away. Both occupants in the car were unhurt in the ishap.
Sources said the truck was, however, detained at the Polem border check post, when another motorist informed police about the hit and run incident.
