The Carmona village panchayat on Thursday adopted a resolution to develop the existing football ground and re-tender the sports upgradation project.
The panchayat body meeting also decided to hold a gram sabha on April 15 to constitute the Village Development Committee.
At a meeting chaired by Sarpanch Savita Mascarenhas, panch members Allwyn Jorge and Sandra Martins proposed and seconded the resolution for the development of the football ground in panchayat property at Ankur Luis in Ward no. V with a request to the local MLA Churchill Alemao to take up the development of the ground with all amenities and allied services under the Benaulim Constituency Development programme on top priority basis, with a provision for unrestricted access to the villagers for the ground and the village panchayat.
The duo also proposed and seconded a resolution to request the Benaulim MLA to take up the matter of re-tendering of the proposed Carmona panchayat sports upgradation project.
