Close on the heels of the decision of the TCP department issuing a stop-work order and show-cause to a commercial building project at Carmona, the Carmona VP has followed suit by issuing the same to
the project.
The Deputy Town Planner had recently issued a show-cause notice on the question of alleged violations of building rules such as setbacks, FAR and coverage.
Carmona panchayat at its meeting held on September 17 has decided to issue a stop-work and show-cause to the commercial project in the village.
Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge told the media that the builder had allegedly showed a PWD-acquired property of 173 sq mtrs in which exists a tarred road as his own and managed to obtain a relaxation on setbacks and FAR in connivance with the Town and Country Planning department.
He said the problem of the road width was highlighted by the panchayat which refused to issue the construction licence. He, however, said the then Deputy Director of Panchayats had overruled all panchayat observations
and issued orders to the panchayat to issue the construction licence.
Jorge said the panchayat was also insisting on the builder to leave the easementary access to two houses through the property.
