Case lodged against SAG coach for Portuguese passport concealment

Agassaim police have registered a case against a Vasco-based taekwondo coach attached to the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) for allegedly obtaining a Portuguese passport without informing competent government authorities while continuing to serve as a government employee.

The accused, identified as Elizabeth Luis of Bhutebhatt-Vasco was working as a taekwondo coach under the Sports Authority of Goa.

According to police, the offence was registered on May 8 based on a complaint filed by Mangaldas Gaonkar, Director of Sports Authority of Goa.

Police stated that between January 11, 2018 and November 14, 2025, the accused allegedly obtained a Portuguese passport despite being a government servant and failed to furnish the mandatory intimation to the competent government authority regarding the same.

The complaint further alleged that the accused continued to remain in government service and drew salary and related benefits from the department during the said period, thereby allegedly cheating the government authority.

Agassaim police have registered the offence under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rushikesh Raikar.
