Crime Branch officer, PI C L Patil, who is investigating the sensational Swapnil Walke murder case returned to Margao on Sunday as part of the investigation.
PI Patil was seen moving around the Krishni Jewellers shop and the nearby area with police officials and personnel in tow.
The investigating officer is believed to have visited the nearby residential area, where a critically injured Swapnil was taken first after he was shot and brutally stabbed by the assailants.
He is believed to have inspected the path from the jewellery shop, where the accused persons made good their escape after stabbing Swapnil.
This is the second time in two days that PI Patil was found spotted in and around the spot where the murder took place.
His visit on Sunday assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the fact that Madgavkars in particular and people from all over the state are anxiously waiting for investigating
agencies to unveil the exact motive behind the cold-blooded murder.
Sources in the know told The Goan that PI Patil and Crime Branch had primarily come down to Margao to investigate the links and to record statements of persons connected to the case.
“A couple of statements have been recorded during PI Patil’s visit to Alto Monte as the investigations have reached a decisive stage,” sources said.
