At various meetings of CCP in the past, the ruling and opposition have been at loggerheads over these issues.
The notice of special meeting of CCP has four items listed on the agenda “ to confirm the minutes of the ordinary meeting held on April 7, to discuss various issues concerning Panaji Municipal Market including court matters, to discuss issues pertaining to laying of cables by M/s Reliance JIO within the limits of CCP jurisdiction and to discuss and decide on the report of market committee regarding moveable handcarts.
Speaking to The Goan Everyday, CCP Mayor Surendra Furtado said, “The corporators wanted to know about the status of the issues pertaining to the municipal market, especially what steps have been initiated to solve these. Similar is the case with laying of cables by Reliance JIO and moveable handcarts.”
Meanwhile, the report of the market committee on hand carts headed by Chairman Uday Madkaikar is expected to be tabled in the meeting for final decision.
