Centre increases Goa’s IPS posts from 8 to 10

The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions increased the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre strength in Goa under the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre from eight to ten posts.

This will add two new positions in Goa Police comprising Additional Director General of Police and Superintendent of Police for the Anti-Narcotics Cell. The existing cadre structure includes posts for DGP, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP “ Range), DIGP (CID/Intelligence) SP North, SP South, SP CID/Crime Branch and SP Training/Traffic.

Besides these postings, the ANC and Economic Offenses Cell are currently being held by IPS officers “ Tikam Singh Verma and Arshi Aadil respectively.

The cadre strength of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers under the AGMUT cadre has been revised for other states while Goa’s allotment remains unchanged at 23 posts.
