Ahead of the Assembly elections in Goa, the Chief Electoral Officer Goa and multi-lingual micro-blogging platform -- Koo -- have launched a pledge to vote campaign.
This campaign aims to sensitize people about the importance of voting as a central pillar of a democracy and to encourage them to vote.
Through a series of interactive activities like kite making, T-shirt designing, Konkani kantaram, mehendi and rangoli, and with the use of hashtags, #NoVoterToBeLeftBehind and #GoVoteGoa, CEO Goa has been extensively reaching out to the electorate to motivate them to vote in the forthcoming polls.
CEO Goa has also been sharing videos on the precautionary measures taken by the Election Commission for public safety amidst the ongoing pandemic.
The Koo App, as a neutral and transparent platform, has been building public confidence in the electoral process through initiatives aimed at augmenting voter literacy towards free and fair elections.
The platform recently released the Koo Voters Guide, which details voter rights and responsibilities in multiple languages, including Marathi, and empowers first-time voters to make an informed decision.
Koo is already a signatory to the ‘Voluntary Code of Ethics’ by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), which aspires to the transparent use of social media during elections. Moreover, to identify and curb misinformation and malice on the platform, Koo has in place a robust mechanism to effectively manage feedback and provide quick turnarounds.
