Former union minister and senior Congress election observer P Chidambaram said that voting for smaller parties was like voting for NOTA and therefore of no use and the only alternative before the voters was Congress.
Chidambaram also said that BJP government’s miss-governance has led the State to utter financial chaos.
“Voting for any other small party that has come from Delhi or West Bengal is equal to voting for NOTA. It will have no effect at all,” Chidambaram said.
The former union minister was speaking while campaigning door-to-door with Aldona Congress candidate Carlos AlvaresFerreira in Aldona constituency.
Speaking further, Chidambaram said people have realised that 10 years of the BJP government has been a total misrule and misgovernance.
“On every front the BJP has failed. Be it economy, security, environment, development, education, etc the BJP government has made a mess of it. People have realised that it was Congress government that has built Goa over 40 years. They want a change and Congress is the obvious choice,” he said.
He said there were only two choices before the people “ vote for BJP if you want misrule to continue or vote for Congress to bring a change.
“No other party can form the government. BJP would like the votes to split and will indulge in its usual mischief of buying MLAs,” he said.
Chairman of Congress media cell Amarnath Panjikar and other party workers were also present.
