A family from Maharashtra was attacked by a chain-snatcher at the Margao railway platform on Sunday.
The family had just entered the platform to board a train back home after visiting Goa when an elderly woman was targeted. As she bent down to pick up a bag, the miscreant snatched her gold chain.
The family raised an alarm and managed to catch the accused with the help of others present at the spot. However, they were only able to recover the chain without its gold pendant.
A Railway Protection Force (RPF) official later handed over the accused to the Konkan Railway Police for further investigation.
