In a major robbery, unknown miscreants attacked a resident of Chandor past midnight and decamped with jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 1.30 and to 2 am on Sunday when the victim Nicholau D’Costa was returning home. The miscreants, who were lying in wait inside the compound of the victim’s residence, pounced on him and relieved of his belongings before making good their escape under the cover of darkness.
Police sources said the robbers have decamped with four gold chains, a bracelet, besides finger rings from the victim, besides cash. The police said the victim was rushed to the hospital after the robbery incident. So far, the police could not zero in on the culprits involved in the attack.
