SANGUEM
Heavy rainfall on Saturday caused a major portion of a house belonging to Atmaram Naik, a resident of Satarkarwada, Curpem in Sanguem taluka, to collapse.

Naik, an elderly man, lives in the mud house with his wife and young daughter. The structure, covered with Mangalore tiles, was already in a severely dilapidated condition. Following the collapse, the family has been left in a dire situation, with the remaining section of the house dangerously unstable. It is currently held up only by wooden poles and could give way at any time.

Facing financial hardship and unable to afford repairs, Atmaram Naik has appealed to local MLA Subhash Phal Dessai and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to help rebuild his home under the Shramdhan Scheme.
