Chandor Club registered a fluent 3-0 win over Varca Sports Club to romp into the quarter-finals of 36th Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club at Padribhat Grounds, Sao Jose de Areal on Wednesday. Chandor Club led 2-0 at the breather.
Chandor Club dominated the game right from the word go and pushed their opponents on the back foot. Persistent forays paid dividends when Jeston Martin slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot in 4th minute. Spurred by the lead, Chandor Club intensified their attacks and doubled the lead in the 15th minute when Stanley Hadagali
punted the ball to the far corner of the net. Varca Sports Club suffered a major blow when Columbun Noronha was ejected by referee for using abusive language. Crossing over, Chandor Club continued in the same vein with their forwards launching a barrage of attacks and took the numerical
advantage when Agnes Vaz drilled the last nail into the rival's coffin. At the other end, Varca Sports Club were a subdued lot as they failed to make inroads into the
rival territory.
