Chandrakant elected deputy sarpanch of Chimbel
OLD GOA: After being out for a while, Chandrakant Kunkolkar returned back as the deputy sarpanch of Chimbel after he was elected unopposed to the post at a special meeting convened in the panchayat office, on Thursday.
The election to the post was necessitated after Rajesh Vernekar was voted out in a no confidence motion last month.
Eight of the eleven panchas were present for the meeting including Sarpanch Shoban Borkar, Kunkolkar, Mohini Narve, Sunil Golatkar, Shruti Kunkolienkar, Nilesh Shirodkar, Rosy Uttukuri and Manisha Chopdekar.
Sushant Shetye was the presiding officer and was assisted in the election process by panchayat secretary Ashish Naik.
