MARGAO
Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has urged the government to immediately take up the repair of the Goa-Belagavi NH4 highway via Chorla falling on the Goa side.
In a letter addressed to the PWD Minister, Deepak Pauskar, the three-time Curtorim MLA has said the 15-km stretch on the Goa side of Chorla Ghat lies in a ruinous state. “The entire stretch is filled with potholes and with depressions all around making it hazardous and dangerous for any type of vehicle to move on it. It is risky for elderly people to travel and even for pregnant women,” he added.
Saying that he had drawn the attention of the government to the state of the road two months ago, Reginaldo said he continues to receive messages of complaints from Goans travelling to and fro between Goa and Belagavi.
He said the Karnataka stretch of the ghat road was in good condition.
