CJP denied nod to hold protest in Panaji today

PANAJI

The North Goa District Magistrate has rejected permission sought by Amreen Shaikh and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), Goa, to hold a public assembly at Azad Maidan, Panaji, on October 11.

The office cited a negative report from the North Goa Superintendent of Police for rejecting the permission. “... the permission sought by you for public assembly at Azad Maidan, Panaji, on October 11, 2026 has been rejected based on the report of the Superintendent of Police, North, wherein the permission is not recommended for public assembly at Azad Maidan...,” the order signed by Deputy Collector Pratik Porob stated.

The CJP Goa has, however, decided to go ahead with the protest as scheduled.
