Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday claimed that the BJP has made a clean sweep in over 150 of the 186 panchayats whose results were declared.
In the remaining panchayats too, around 50% of the candidates who won are affiliated to BJP, he said.
BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade also claimed that nearly 800 to 900 of the 1464 wards have been won by BJP candidates.
Although the elections were not held on party lines, based on individual candidates party affiliations, political parties have announced that their panels have won.
