Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s brother-in-law, Virendra (Videsh) Yeshwant Desai is amongst the 11 candidates who have filed nomination papers for the election to the 14-member Cuncolim Municipal Council.
Videsh was the outgoing vice-chairperson of the Cuncolim Municipal Council and is seeking re-election from ward no XIV.
Other candidates who have filed their nomination papers for the Cuncolim civic body on Monday are sitting councillor Udesh Gaonkar (Ward no II), Dessai Vanshila Ankush and Nagvekar Priya Rajesh (both ward no III), Texeira Sucorrina and Naik Laxman Ganesh (both ward no V), Patekar Bharti Satyavan (ward No VI), Vaz Manzila Eugenia (Ward No VII), Fernandes Zelita (ward No IX), Desai Vishal Shabu (ward XI), Desai Samadan (Ward No XII).
