Says 50,000 women & girls have benefited from ‘Check by Doctor’, ‘Health with Ayurveda’ initiatives so far

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to people across the State to take advantage of the free health camps being organised till June 5. He was speaking at the ‘Health with Ayurveda’ camp held at Deendayal Hospital, where he interacted with doctors, support staff and patients.
Among those present were Deendayal Hospital Chairman Vallabh Salkar, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, Padmakar Malik, Dr Sneha Bhagwat, former Speaker Rajesh Patnekar, Kanta Patnekar, Dr Kashish Patnekar, and other directors of the institution.
Urging more women from both rural and urban areas to come forward for health check-ups, the chief minister said that free medicines and treatment assistance of up to Rs 20,000 are being provided under the initiative.
Sawant said the State government’s health initiatives, ‘Check by Doctor’ and ‘Health with Ayurveda’, have been receiving an overwhelming response across Goa. “So far, more than 50,000 women and young girls have undergone free health check-ups under these programmes,” he said.
He added that early diagnosis is very important before any illness becomes serious. Timely check-ups and proper treatment can help prevent severe diseases.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet and regular health examinations are essential for a healthy life, and this is the main aim of the government’s health campaigns, the chief minister said.
Sawant also expressed concern over the rising number of diabetes, blood pressure, kidney disorder and dialysis cases.
“To prevent the rise of such diseases, the government is focusing on primary-level health screening and public awareness campaigns. Various free medical camps, ayurvedic treatment services and government-supported doctors are being made available to provide healthcare facilities to citizens,” he said.
The chief minister said the aim of the ‘Health with Ayurveda’ initiative is not only to provide treatment but also to encourage people to adopt a natural and healthy lifestyle.
“Many patients are benefiting from ayurvedic treatment, and public trust in these therapies is steadily increasing,” he said.
During the programme, Dr Sandeep Sawant explained the importance of Ayurvedic treatment methods, while Vallabh Salkar also addressed the gathering.
