Emphasising the importance of human resource development in rural areas and placing it on par with infrastructure development, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to village panchayats to prioritise skill development among the youth, fostering self-reliance and competence.
He was speaking at Reis Magos after inaugurating the new Panchayat Ghar in the presence of RDA Minister Govid Gaude, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar, former minister Jayesh Salgaonkar, Reis Magos Sarpanch Sushma Pednekar, Deputy Sarpanch Shruti Chodankar and panch members.
The chief minister underlined that the progress of villages cannot take place unless there is strong desire and will power among the panchayat members to develop their village.
The chief minister also commended the Reis Magos panchayat for completing the construction of the Panchayat Ghar within eight months.
RDA Minister Govind Gaude reiterated the government's commitment to rural development, stressing the role of community support in these initiatives.
Highlighting the importance of public support in developmental activities, Gaude said villages cannot be developed if people started opposing projects.
Saligao MLA Kedar Naik expressed gratitude to the state government for their support in constructing the new Panchayat Ghar, recognising the positive impact it would have on the local community.
On the occasion, some citizens were felicitated by the chief minister for their contribution towards the development of the village.
ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar, Reis Magos Sarpanch Sushma Pednekar, Deputy Sarpanch Shruti Chodankar and panch member Subhash Pednekar also spoke at the event.
