Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has asked people not to unnecessarily drag religious matters to police stations that could trigger communal tension.
Speaking on the sidelines of State-event to observe Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Sawant also asked people to exercise restraint.
"I have been constantly saying that religion should not be unnecessarily taken to the police station that can create communal tension. CM Pramod Sawant urges public to work towards a developed India and Goa," he said replying to media questions about ongoing issues in parts of South Goa and Mapusa.
The CM further paid tribute to the Father of the Nation and called upon the people to help realize Gandhi’s vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
He emphasised that every citizen has a role to play in contributing towards the progress of both India and Goa.
Sawant further highlighted the importance of supporting the 'Vocal for Local' and 'Make in India' campaigns, which aim to boost local businesses and promote self-reliance.
He acknowledged the 10th anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Clean India initiative (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan), which encourages people to keep their surroundings clean.
