CM calls for drive to recruit children of freedom fighters

Says secretariat security guards to be absorbed via GHRDC

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant chaired the 17th meeting of the Board of  Directors of  Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) held at Secretariat, Porvorim yesterday.

The Chief Minister directed authorities attached  to GHRDC to conduct special  drive for recruitment of  freedom fighters children

During  the meeting,  the Chief Minister informed that  Security Guards  working  in Secretariat  initially recruited by Goa Labour Employment Society on contract basis  will be absorbed through GHRDC after completion of  30 days familiarization training. He said, apprenticeship scheme envisages  providing incentives, subject to the registration of the firms under GHRDC portal. The vision is to provide  a unique platform for employers, unemployed Goan Youths and other stakeholders for efficient employment service in order to meet market demand in the State as per  the industry requirements.

He also  informed that GHRDC has started imparting training to security guards  and housekeeping attendants through  them. He felt that security guards and housekeeping attendants should  be insured, so that they can get the benefits of financial aid.

The Chief Minister said that GHRDC should obtain requisite information from private firms as regard to manpower requirement which includes the trainees, security guards, housekeeping attendants so as to provide them the trained manpower.

The meeting also deliberated issues such as training of recruitment rules for GHRDC, supply of manpower to multispecialty hospital block proposed in the campus of Goa Medical College among others.
