Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was busy addressing various grievances in Canacona taluka, with as many as seven delegations putting forth various issues on Saturday.
Sawant was seen interacting with the various government officials on these issues and sought some time to resolve them.
The Anganwadi workers submitted a memorandum seeking pension, while the Canacona municipal labourers and forest department labourers submitted a separate memorandum to the chief minister to regularise their services.
Municipal workers were seen pleading that their services for as long as 23 years had not been not recognised nor were they given proper justice.
A group of Private Property Shacks and Huts Owners submitted a memorandum to the chief minister regarding their grievances and sought the government’s help on CRZ issues in tourism activities.
Residents of Bhatpal along with their parish priest met the chief minister and explained the difficulties that the church has been made to face in running the school. They submitted a memorandum to seek the CM’s intervention as education minister to resolve their grievance.
A delegation of sugarcane farmers sought Sawant’s intervention in releasing their amounts towards sugarcane supplied to the sugarcane factory. Sawant interacted with the sugarcane factory administrator and assured to release the amounts to the farmers concerned.
A delegation of the Tourist Taximen Association of Canacona met the chief minister, when he visited the Chapoli Dam and submitted their memorandum toward fixing of meter and renewal of permits.
A private party from Colomb also submitted a memorandum towards a property dispute and sought his intervention.
While Sawant was visiting stalls during the Sarkar Tumchya Daari (government at your doorstep) event at the Government Higher Secondary Hall, Canacona, he heard a resident from Agonda bitterly complaining at the nearly Zonal Agriculture Office stall, as he accused officials of non-cooperation regarding his agriculture land.
The chief minister quickly went to attend to his grievances and the resident submitted his correspondence with the department and accused the officials of failing to help him out.
