Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Governor P Ashok Gajapathi Raju extended warm greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of Dussehra (Vijayadashami).
In his message, the Chief Minister said, “May this Dussehra take away all your worries and fill your lives with happiness, prosperity and the fulfilment of your dreams.”
He described the festival as a symbol of the eternal triumph of good over evil, signifying Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasura.
Sawant added, “Dussehra is not just about burning Ravana “ it is about conquering the evil within us. No matter how strong the darkness of unrighteousness, the light of truth and righteousness always prevails. With the blessings of Maa Durga and Lord Shree Ram, I wish that all of us achieve victory in every sphere of life.”
Governor Raju, in his message, said Dussehra commemorates the timeless triumph of truth over falsehood and light over darkness.
“This festival reminds us that no matter how strong the forces of negativity may seem, they can always be overcome with courage, righteousness and unity,” he said, urging people to work towards a harmonious and inclusive society.
