CM: Highway flyover proposed in Vasco to tackle traffic congestion

Parrikar assures to take up project only after discussing with public

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said a proposal for a highway flyover in Vasco would be taken up to decongest traffic, but assured to take up the project only after meeting and discussing it with the public.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Baina in the presence of PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavlikar, Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, SIDGIL Vice Chairman Sanjiv Desai and MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik.
Parrikar informed the people that a lot of development was going on in Mormugao.

access to the beach was rejected by the previous Congress government at the and the project was approved
only after the BJP government came to power in Delhi," he said.
Highlighting the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, Parrikar requested people not to defecate in the open and said that police would take action if anyone found defecating in public.
"Please ask me whatever you require, but do not defecate in the public," said Parrikar.
He said that a proposal for a highway flyover in Vasco would be taken up to decongest traffic, but only after meeting and discussing it with public.
Speaking on the occasion, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar said the old plant had outdated technology and the new 20 MLD plant was commissioned to cater to an increased population.
Dhavalikar informed that all recycled water from the STP would be given to MPT to spray on coal stacks to solve the coal pollution issue and other institutions for gardening purposes.
He added that a new water pipeline at Chicalim would be connected directly to other pipelines to increase water supply and announced plans to inaugurate an overhead reservoir by next month.
