Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will preside over a public meeting on Goods-and-Services-Tax (GST) on October 4.

The meeting will take place at Institute Menezes Braganza in Panaji at 6.30 pm on October 4. A source revealed, "Small dealers are having a lot of problems with GST compliance. CM Parrikar would like to speak to them. This is the reason that a public meeting is being organised."
GST has indeed given a lot of trouble to businessmen. Small traders especially are facing issues, as they are not used to filing their own tax returns. Moreover, there is shortage of tax experts in Goa, who can help traders in fili
ng GST return. It is in this context that this meeting assumes huge significance.
It is also reported that Dipak M Bandekar, commissioner of commercial taxes and assistant commissioner of commercial taxes, will also be present at the public meeting.
