Says Rs 78.66 cr project to come up within 2 years

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday evening laid the foundation stone for the Ravindra Bhavan project at Tuem, on the occasion of the birthday of Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar.
Sawant said the Rs 78.66 crore project would be completed within two years.
The chief minister laid the foundation stone in the presence of Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho, Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, Vasco MLA Daji Salkar, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, Priol MLA Govind Gaude, Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, Santa Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes, MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, BJP State President Damu Naik, ZP members, sarpanches, and panchas.
The project, being undertaken by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), aims to develop a modern and integrated cultural hub to promote arts, culture, and community engagement in the region.
The project with an estimated cost of Rs 78.66 crore will feature a multi-level structure with a total built-up area of approximately 16,800 sq. metres, incorporating well-planned spaces across multiple levels.
Key facilities will include an auditorium with a seating capacity of around 850 and a large open-air amphitheatre designed to accommodate over 5,000 people, creating a platform for cultural performances and large public events.
Conceptualised as a green building inspired by the form of a butterfly, the project integrates performing arts, education, and public engagement spaces while emphasising sustainability and environmental responsiveness.
The design will include exhibition galleries, a taluka museum showcasing local arts and crafts, along with music and dance facilities and other supporting infrastructure aimed at establishing a vibrant cultural and entertainment hub for North Goa.
