CM meeting partymen in a bid to calm ruffled feathers

PANAJI: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has begun a system of arranging one-on-one meetings with ministers and MLAs of his party amid reports that members of his own party are unhappy that the coalition partners are hogging the limelight.
Parrikar himself has said that there is nothing unusual about the meetings, especially since he has held such meetings during previous tenures.
According to people familiar with the matter, the meetings with various partymen including Ministers, MLAs, heads of government corporations, are being held for them to place before the Chief Minister their grievances, projects in their constituencies that are pending as well as other clearances they wish to seek.
"The Chief Minister has sought to become a facilitator of these partymen in a bid to calm them down and hear them out," a source familiar with the matter has said.
These meetings will be held over the course of the coming weeks.
The Chief Minister has however said that the meetings have been a regular feature of his government including the past governments and that he is only seeking to take this initiative more seriously this time.
