The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed Directorate of Panchayat and Municipal Administration to provide the list of illiterates across all rural and urban areas.
During a meeting held on Monday, CM said also said to issue certificates confirming the wards or localities are fully literate
The Secretary of Education presented a detailed update on the NEP-2020 implementation. The State Curriculum Framework for the Foundational and Secondary Stages has been officially notified, and the curriculum for Foundational Stages I and II has been developed and distributed to all schools.
Art and Vocational Education teachers have been allocated to schools to introduce Art Education as part of the NEP-2020 implementation. Additionally, teachers of Class IX have received training in Learning Outcomes, Assessment Rubrics, and Evaluation Patterns. Furthermore, a group of 80 Mathematics and Science teachers has undergone specialised training at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. The State Curriculum Development Committees are actively working on developing curricula for the Preparatory and Middle Stages, which will be implemented starting from the next academic year.
To ensure that individual schools are effectively supported, taluka-level visits will be conducted to address any challenges they may face and enhance the overall implementation process.
In preparation for the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, previously known as NAS, which is scheduled for November 19, 2024, pre-tests for students in Classes 3, 6, and 9 will be conducted across all schools in Goa on September 4, 2024. Schools will receive daily questions, in addition to the existing weekly questions, through Vidya Samiksha Kedra (SCERT) to help students prepare for the assessment.
Furthermore, the ULHAAS Scheme was discussed, with plans to use Panchayat Halls as UMID centres where necessary.
