Addressing a convention of the BJP Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the party, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar spoke of the achievements of the government over the past five years and sought to counter any damaging effect the BBSM revolt might have.
“By November all youth between the ages 18-35 will be eligible for 1GB of 3G or 4G data and 100 minutes of free talk-time. A tender in this regard has already been floated,” Parsekar said adding that WiFi facilities on college campuses which is currently available only in two colleges would be extended to all colleges as part of a Goa Digital Plan.
Parsekar urged the youth to take advantage of government schemes as well as to venture into entrepreneurship instead of just seeking government jobs. He referred to the government’s initiatives in the field of IT including two IT parks and MoUs with Internet giant Google as well as the government of Telangana.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister, while addressing a group of BJP women workers, reiterated that the amount under the Griha Aadhar scheme would also be hiked soon and that the government was attempting to control inflation through subsidised vegetables and that pulses would soon be added to the list.
Like he had done at the BJP workers convention, Parsekar also used the opportunity to take potshots both at the BBSM and the AAP.
