BICHOLIM
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant displayed humane and compassionate approach by stopping his convoy to help an accident victim at the Amonna Bridge on Friday morning.
Sawant was travelling from Sanquelim towards Panaji with his convoy when he noticed a young woman lying on the road along with her two-wheeler at the Amonna Bridge.
Without wasting any time, the chief minister instructed his convoy to stop and personally stepped out to check on the injured woman.
The woman had sustained an injury to her leg in the accident. After assessing her condition and speaking to her, Sawant immediately arranged for one of the vehicles in his convoy to transport her to a hospital for medical treatment.
People present at the site appreciated the chief minister's gesture and praised his sensitivity and concern for the injured woman.
The chief minister has on several occasions demonstrated his readiness to assist accident victims whenever he comes across such incidents while travelling across the state.
He has been seen stopping his convoy, personally attending to injured persons and extending whatever immediate assistance is possible.
