Chief Minister Pramod Sawant received the first dose of Covid vaccine on Wednesday at the Sakhali PHC at around 10 am. Nurse Vimal Sinari administered the dose in the presence of Health Officer Dr Uttam Dessai.

CM Sawant stated, “I took the jab to bolster people’s trust in the vaccine. Covid vaccine is 100 per cent safe and is being given to every citizen free of cost at government hospitals and at the cost of Rs 250 in private hospitals. I urge every citizen to take this opportunity and to come forward to receive their doses to ensure 100 per cent protection for Goa from Covid-19.”

He urged the people to follow Covid-safe behavior even after being vaccinated.

The CM rested for half an hour after the vaccination. He said that he did not feel any discomfort during or after the vaccination. However, he informed that doctors handed over some medication to him to manage side effects if any cropped up during the day. “I will be taking my second dose after 28 days,” he said.
