MMC to barricade bus stand project at Mapusa

MAPUSA

Barricades will be erected around the bus stand project in a bid to prevent vehicles from parking at the construction site in Mapusa.

A decision to this effect was taken at a MMC meeting chaired by MLA Joshua Desouza in the MMC hall and attended by administrator Paresh Faldesai, Chief Officer Clen Madeira and officials from MMC, GSIDC, RTO and other departments.

The meeting was convened to identify the hurdles and to expedite work on the bus stand.

"The contractor has started the work, but the parked vehicles has caused a delay in the work. So, it was decided in the meeting to erect the barricades around the area," said Mapusa MLA Joshua.

"Once the barricades are erected, the contractor will not be disturbed and he will also be able to bring the required material. This will result in more planned work,” said the Mapusa MLA.
