MARGAO
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has made a fervent plea to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to convene a meeting of the High Powered Coordination Committee (HPCC) to discuss the burning Sonsodo issue.
The Fatorda MLA telephonically spoke to the Chief Minister, who heads the HPCC on Sonsodo as the Chairman, while addressing the media at the party headquarters, making a request to immediately call for the meeting on Sonsodo.
Reminding the Chief Minister that he heads the HPCC as the Chairman, Sardesai drew Sawant’s attention that while the Goa Waste Management Corporation is doing the work at Sonsodo, the inert has piled up at he site, fearing that the inert may slide down during the monsoons if not disposed of.
“Both the people of Fatorda and Curtorim will be affected if the inert flows down on the road,” he informed the Chief Minister.
Sardesai said the Chief Minister has promised to fix a meeting on Sonsodo at the earliest.
