Chief Minister Pramod Sawant spoke during the distribution of application forms for the Mhaji Ghar Scheme to beneficiaries in the Sankhali constituency. Officials were present to guide people on filling applications and submitting documents.
Sawant said strict action will be taken if illegal encroachments on government land are found, and urged people to remain alert. All required documents must be submitted within the next six months, he said. Applications received later will be considered separately.
He said facilities have been arranged to help applicants understand the scheme, and groups can submit forms together. Houses along the roadside will be regularised. If four brothers live in one house, separate house numbers will be given so each can get electricity, water and toilet facilities. The scheme aims to reduce disputes in families and bring peace of mind, he said.
The Chief Minister also said that many unauthorised houses on Comunidade land were built with the consent of Comunidade bodies and not government approval. Therefore, instead of taking such cases to court, Comunidades should help regularise these houses. The government has imposed a 20% penalty on owners to legalise such dwellings, he added.
Under the Atal Aasra Yojana, no-objection certificates for house repairs must be issued within three days. Application forms were later distributed, and hundreds of villagers attended.
