Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stressed the need to come up with innovation and startup in music sector. He was speaking as the chief guest at the Annual College Day of Goa College of Music at Altinho on Tuesday.
Addressing the students, Chief Minister said music plays an important role in treating chronic diseases and urged the students to start innovation and try to give their inputs so that we can set up music therapy treatment in various chronic diseases which can help in healing and relieving pain. New Education Policy 2020 has given a spur to the field of music he added.
The Chief Minister further announced that Goa College of Music will soon get its new building in next financial year and till then they can utilize the Auditorium of Institute of Menezes and Braganza and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) for conducting such events.
Addressing the function, Pandit Ulhas Velingkar, a renowned Tabla Player, said that music has the power to enrich life of human being and further quoted that “it is a long journey from human being to be a human.
