Sub-divisional Magistrate, Margao Ravishekar Nipanikar has commenced investigations into the suicide by a 30-year-old married woman at Cuncolim on Tuesday.
The SDM has taken over the investigation since the suicide by Shreedevi Lamani, aged 30 years, resident of 1st Gate IDC Cuncolim and a native of Karnataka, committed suicide in her rental room with the help of ligature material.
During the course of enquiry by the Cuncolim police it was revealed that the deceased person was married in the year 2017 and the death has occurred within the period of seven years.
After registering a case under sec. 176 of the Cr.P.C, the Cuncolim police has handed over the investigation to the Deputy Collector and SDO II Margao, Ravishekar G. Nipanikar.
The SDM visited the spot and conducted detail Inquest panchanama over the dead body of deceased person.
The detailed statement of daughter of the deceased has been recorded by securing the presence NGO wherein it is revealed that deceased person committed suicide in her rental room.
