CANACONA
According to the notice, the builder has been called to remain present in the office of the CMC chief officer on November 29, with supporting documents/permits to cut the trees.
Following widespread concerns among locals that the builder had chopped down coconut and some other trees, the builder has been asked to present documents/permissions of the authorities concerned to justify the felling of trees to make way for a hotel project.
One of the specific terms in the construction licence granted by CMC to the builder is that the builder has to obtain permission from the competent authority to cut trees before starting the work, sources told The Goan.
