VASCO

Insisting that there is no Cabinet reshuffle happening as of now, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, however, hinted something big had been planned for Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar and advised his supporters to have some patience for a few days.

Sawant was speaking at the birthday celebrations of Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar late Friday evening after proceeding to Sada from Goa Airport upon his return from Delhi.

In his trademark style, Sawant said "Sankalpak Bhivpachi Garaj Na", prompting the applause and cheers from the large number of Karyakartas present at the event.

"Whenever Amonkar meets me, he only has two issues that he discusses, one is on development works and the other is the future and betterment of his people and youth from Mormugao constituency,” said Sawant.

“I want to assure everyone that we already have a lot of opportunities but the BJP will create a large number of job opportunities on a bigger scale through the staff selection process. We have also begun apprenticeship training programme and this will help people get around 5,000 jobs on first-come-first-served basis after completing the training and being awarded a certificate from the Government of India. We will assure that around 10,000 people will be accommodated in the private sector after the skill training is competed.”

Turning his attention to supporters of Amonkar, the CM admitted it is their right to seek a higher position for their leader.

“Many may feel that despite joining the BJP, Amonkar has not taken charge of any department as yet. I want to tell all the Karyakartas that they must wait for a few days and their wishes may come true because “Sankalpak Bhivpachi Garaj Na”. There may be a larger responsibility entrusted on him in the days to come.”

“The Karyakartas may have expectations for Amonkar on his birthday and it will happen soon. There is no Cabinet reshuffle happening as of now but something will definitely happen for Amonkar in the days to come," said Sawant.

Asked about his visit to Delhi, Sawant said he had participated in the International Doctor’s Day programme.

"As the CM of Goa, I have to frequently visit Delhi for different works. I had gone for an International Doctor’s Day function to Delhi. I had also met party leaders where we discussed various issues regarding development, Lok Sabha elections and other things,” he said.
