Director General of Indian Coast Guard Rajendra Singh has emphasized fast tracking of projects for operations and logistics infrastructure,
which would enhance and strengthen the capabilities of the service.
Singh was interacting with Coast Guard Officers during his visit in the State from Tuesday to Thursday.
The DG reviewed the Coast Guard operations and infrastructure development, and also inaugurated the Coast Guard Officer’s Mess at Chicolna.
The DG’s wife, Urmila Singh inaugurated the family welfare centre, which has a play school and a medical clinic for immediate medical attention and praised the efforts put in by the ladies in enhancing the soft skills and betterment of the CGWWA fraternity in Goa.
They also planted saplings at Tatrakshak Vihar, Vasco to spread the message of Green and Clean India.
Under Singh’s leadership, the Coast Guard has witnessed rapid growth in terms of infrastructure development and induction of numerous surface assets. Sanctions to set up additional Pollution Response Teams, Coast Guard Refit and Production Teams, Base Maintenance Unit and Coast Guard Aeronautical Service has also been accorded from the Centre.
