With the iconic Colva beach becoming the favourite destination of domestic visitors this festive season, the Goa police have issued a traffic advisory, notifying the Colva beach road for one-way traffic on a temporary basis.
Anticipating that Colva beach may play host to thousands of visitors on New Year eve, the advisory has been issued to avoid traffic congestion and ensure that local people are not put to hardships.
As per the advisory, motorists/ vehicular traffic proceeding from Colva beach towards Margao shall take left turn at Sagar Kinara hotel junction and proceed towards Bollywood Sea Queen Hotel to Betalbatim Road.
Similarly, the road proceeding to Colva beach has been notified as a temporary one-way from Colva Four Road Junction to near Sand Castle Building, 4th Ward Gandaulim-Colva.
The advisory has notified “no parking” on either sides from Colva Four Road Junction to Hotel Sagar Kinara on 31/12/2020 from 14:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs on 01/12/2021.
The motorists and the general public are requested to cooperate and follow the directions given by the traffic police during the New Year celebration.
During the above celebration the general public, business community, residents office goers and other commuters are requested not to park their vehicle along the route from Colva Four Road Junction to Hotel Sagar Kinara.
Meanwhile, police have set up barricades at the Khareband road leading to the coastal belt and checked vehicles before letting these head to the beach belt.
