Colva was tense on Saturday after the agitation by local tourist taxi operators against GoaMiles taxi service took a violent turn after a taxi was stoned at the Colva parking square even as a group led by Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao drove out the GoaMiles taxis from the Colva Residency complex.
In protest, the GoaMiles taxi drivers assembled at the Colva police station on Saturday evening demanding the arrest of the persons responsible for the stoning of the taxi. They also demanded action against the Benaulim MLA for allegedly assaulting a GoaMiles driver.
Colva police immediately swung into action and registered a FIR against Succorro Falcao and four others in connection with the stoning
