PORVORIM
Emphasising that communal harmony is of utmost importance for the prosperity of the State, Cabinet Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte appealed to people to forget their animosity and work for the progress of the Porvorim constituency, to preserve the identity of Goa and retain ‘Goenkarponn’.
“The younger generation of today is much smarter but they do not possess sufficient knowledge of Indian culture. They should know the importance of festivals, and it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to impart this knowledge to the youth,” said Khaunte.
He was speaking after hoisting the Gudi at Pundalik Devasthan. The Zilla Parishad member Kavita Naik, Sarpanch Swapnil Shodankar, panch member Sham Kamat, Shalu Gupta and Gurunath Vernekar were present on the occasion.
Khaunte visited different temples in Porvorim on the occasion of Gudi Padwa.
