Confidence overdrive in Fatorda
MARGAO: All the three contenders for the high profile Fatorda constituency, Goa Forward mentor, Vijai Sardesai, BJP’s Damodar (Damu) Naik and Congress candidate Joseph Silva have exuded confidence of wining the poll.
Election for the Fatorda constituency was conducted by the authorities against the backdrop of bitter tussle between the GFP and the Congress party on the eve of polling.
BJP’s Damu Naik told the media outside the PWD polling booth that he is cent per cent sure of winning the seat by a handsome margin. “Based on the response received from the voters and the turn out, I can say with confidence that BJP’s victory is assured,” Damu said.
On the other hand, Congress Joseph Silva said that he is happy with the voter turn out, adding that the Congress will regain the Fatorda seat.
Goa Forward party mentor, Vijai Sardesai pointed out that the February 4 election was a referendum on Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn, adding that people have voted for him in large numbers in the election. “We had set a specific target and I am confident that I will come close to the target and win the election,” he added.
