The Congress on Thursday announced the names of chiefs of 10 more block committees including four who headed them before they were dissolved for a revamp in August.
CCP corporator Joel Andrade retains his position as head of the Panaji block as do Vishal Volvoikar in Cumbharjua, Conceicao Peixote in Navelim, and Mangaldas Naik at Sakhalim.
Fresh presidents have been appointed in six other constituencies including Parvati Nagvenkar in Siolim, Jitendra Naik in Sanguem, Judas Anacleto De Souza in Dabolim, Terancio Fernandes in Curtorim, Ularico Rodrigues in Vasco and Lodovina (Veena) Cardozo in Velim.
A statement issued by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) vice-president M K Sheikh said, these 10 appointments have been made with the concurrence of AICC incharge, Goa desk, Dinesh Gundu Rao and other AICC observers.
Sheikh said with these appointments the party now has in place block presidents in 19 of the 40 assembly constituencies and in due course heads of the remaining 21 blocks will be announced.
